Anaïs Bertrand is the founder of Insolence Productions, a production company based in Paris. She has produced 14 short films plus 5 feature films in production or development.
We discussed the importance of accurate sub-titles and audio description, shooting a short film on 35mm; how, due to the support of French TV companies and others, it’s possible to earn a living making short films; why it can take 2-3 years to make a short film; the importance of great scripts and how she works with directors; and the secret of an actor running naked through woods apparently in bare feet.
